Operator Exchange

WHAT IS OPERATORS EXCHANGE ?

Operator Exchange is a NEWEA Program that matches up New England states each year to swap operations professionals for a two-day tour and knowledge transfer (expenses paid). This exciting program is aimed at the exchange of information and best practices for wastewater treatment to support excellence in operations. Participants will be eligible for total contact hours (TCHs) pending approval from the State. The number of of eligible TCHs will be updated once available.

HOW DO I APPLY ?

NHWPCA is currently planning for the 2026 Operator Exchange.  This year, New Hampshire will be paired up with Rhode Island and the visit will occur August 26-28, 2026.  All licensed operators in New Hampshire are welcome to apply for consideration.

2026 AGENDA

New Hampshire operators, in collaboration with RICWA, we are looking for an operator to head down to Rhode Island for three days of learning and fun experiences. A chance to see how our colleagues to the south get it done. This is an annual tradition held by the NHWPCA and a neighboring association. You will tour several RI facilities, attend the trade fair, spend two nights in hotels and have dinner with colleagues from RICWA. Hotel and Meal Expenses are handled though RICWA and the NHWPCA. HERE'S WHAT TO EXPECT

You'll meet a representative from RICWA will take you to tour several RI facilities on Day 1 & 2 followed by a dinner with RICWA members. Day 3 will include attending RICWA's Conference before heading back home. You will also be asked to write an article summarizing the highlights and knowledge gained from the experience for NHWPCA's newsletter.
